Awareness Raising About Sexual Violence Against Women & Girls.
In Hargeisa on 7th Jan, 2023, AMNI Analysis and Development Organization held a facilitation program that aimed to raise awareness on how to prevent sexual violence against women and girls.
AMNI always focuses on how to increase communities’s education about all forms of violence against women and girls.
Today’s event is another opportunity for AMNI to find out the extend of the most vulnerable sector of the community vigilant toward the violence against them.
This workshop brought together 24 beneficiaries among them were youth and middle aged women, and it was monitored and facilitated by Nimca Mohamud Fidar @MiMi Fidaar, one of directors of AMNI.
Information covered in the facilitation workshops includes:
* Sexual assault statistics
* Cultural beliefs and practices that have normalized or promoted sexual violence (rape culture)
* Legal rights of victims
* Resources for survivors of sexual violence
* Tools and techniques for supporting a survivor
